Our Service

We began as structural engineers, and this discipline still forms the core of our practice. As structural engineers we work closely with the architect, building services engineer, client and contractor to achieve a design which maximises efficiency and optimises the re-use of existing building elements. We enter into the design debate to understand the client’s requirements and to maximise the added value which can be achieved by using the structure within the building environmental strategy.

Hand in glove with structural engineering, we provide civil engineering services. As civil engineers we recognize the responsibility to protect the environment and providing strategies to limit the environmental impact of a development. Many of our projects involve developments on brownfield sites with significant issues of contaminated soil and ground water. Similarly many projects are in urban environments where Issues of drainage and flooding have to be taken into account. Working closely with the architects, the statutory authorities and other specialist within the team we ensure that the civil engineering solutions adopted take account of external site constraints and satisfy the statutory requirements in an efficient and cost effective way.

We offer Mechanical and Electrical engineering as a service. In common with our ethos developed in the other areas of the firm, our approach to the design of building services is to maximize efficiency and minimize waste through close work with the other disciplines, and familiarity with the latest sustainable technologies.

In addition to the above we are able to offer specialist services, either in house, or in conjunction with our network of friends and colleagues, including; Geoenvironmental Consultancy Traffic Planning Flood Risk Assessments Acoustic Consultancy Certification of Design (Building Structures) in Scotland Expert Witness Work
