Booth King Welcome Four Work Experience Students

At Booth King we are great supporters of work experience and apprenticeship programmes. With the increasing skills gap in our industry, we are supporting young people, encouraging them into a career in engineering. In fact, a report out this week, cited structural and civil engineering graduate roles on in the top 10 highest paid roles for graduates!
In July we welcomed three work experience students at our Ramsbottom head office and one student in Edinburgh. Here we talk to them about their experiences of working at Booth King.
Sarah has recently completed her university studies and came to Booth King to learn more about office and business management. Comments Sarah:

“My month at Booth King has been extremely useful and I’ve learnt all aspects of administration including, answering the phones, creating spreadsheets, marketing skills and assisting the engineering team.”
In addition, we welcomed Louis and Jude in our Ramsbottom office, both of whom have a keen interest in engineering. They were given a real taste for what its like to be an engineer, visiting projects on site and attending client meetings, in addition to gaining valuable office experience such as looking at structural drawings etc.
Jude said: “We have all take on a range of duties whilst working here, facing new challenges that encourage us to learn something new.”
Jude and Louis are aspiring to become structural engineers and technicians, with Jude going on to do his final year of his degree and Louis who plans to apply for a civil/structural engineering degree.
We were also delighted to welcome our first work experience student in Edinburgh. Jack was given a real taste of what its like to be an engineer working closely with associate director Alan Ishwerood.
