The Hallé has announced that, its St Peter’s Phase 2 has received planning and listed building consent.
This means that work can begin to transform Hallé St Peter’s, offering enhanced rehearsal space, a new café and a new base for the Hallé’s Education and Community programmes.
Booth King is working as structural and civil engineers for this high profile new project, following a RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) design competition in February 2016 alongside architectural practice Stephenson Studio, acoustic specialists ARUP and M&E consultant Max Fordham.
Hallé Chief Executive John Summers said:
“This is great news, and means our plans for Hallé St Peter’s can start to become reality. There is still a great deal of work to do, but we hope to begin the re-development in the summer of next year and re-open around a year later.”
