Mark Moppett BSc (Hons) CEng MIStructE
In his career to date he has gained substantial project management, design and site experience from an extensive range of regional, national and international projects which include tall buildings, deep basements, long-span steel and timber roofs, fabric structures, massive concrete gravity offshore platforms and bridges. Mark has also been responsible for the structural assessment and refurbishment design for several historic and listed buildings.
Mark has also worked on a number of projects as expert witness and has provided advice on a number of contractual disputes and claims following structural defects. Mark has lectured on courses training engineers towards their IStructE chartership exam.
Barry Jefcoate BEng (Hons) PhD CEng MICE
Barry Jefcoate is a Director of Booth King Partnership Limited in Ramsbottom responsible for a wide range of projects.
Before joining Booth King, Barry was a Senior Engineer with a multi national consultancy, based in Manchester, and prior to that in London following working as a Research Assistant in the Engineering Department of Aberdeen University.
Barry has a broad experience base, and has been responsible for a number of key buildings, particularly the Beetham Tower in Liverpool, which at the time of construction was the tallest residential building in the North West, and the redevelopment of the Free Trade Hall, Manchester to become the Radisson Edwardian Hotel.
Barry was the lead engineer for the Panopticons Halo, a public artwork which was shortlisted for a Structural Steelwork Design Award in 2008, and Moat Cottage, awarded the Manchester Society of Architects Best House (unbuilt category) 2008.
Paradise Pavilion, for Grosvenor, has been awarded ‘Best Small Project’, 2009, by the IstructE, North West.
Barry is an approved Certifier of Design (Building Structures) in Scotland, and has provided consultant support to the Architecture department at Leeds Metropolitan University
Ian Leaper BSc (Hons) CEng MICE MIStructE
Ian is a director of Booth King Partnership Limited in Ramsbottom. With specialist knowledge of the education sector with extensive experience on schools, FE and HE projects he heads up the practice’s education work.
Previosuly, Ian was a partner of an international consultancy having directed offices for the practice in Hong Kong, Kuwait, Jeddah and Manchester. In 2008 he joined Booth King as a consultant.
With more than 30 years structural engineering experience Ian has managed and developed multi-discipline project teams and delivered major projects in all sectors both in the UK and internationally.
Ian has a keen interest in the sustainable aspects of engineering and in 2007 lead the project team for the Mersey Tidal Power Study which won a 2008 ACE Award.
Ian Entwisle BEng (Hons) CEng MIStructE
Ian Entwisle is a Director of Booth King Partnership Limited in Ramsbottom responsible for a wide range of projects.
Before joining Booth King, Ian was a Senior Engineer with international consultancies, based in Manchester.
Ian has a wide range of experience and has been responsible for some major residential and commercial projects such as the Leftbank Apartments Spinningfields Manchester and the Evans medical/MEDEVA pharmaceutical developments in Speke. He has also been responsible in part for a number of civic and sporting developments such as the Reebok stadium, Bolton, the Manchester city Art gallery and Manchester cathedral visitor’s centre. Ian was also responsible for Cardinal Heenan high School in Leeds.
Recently, Ian has been responsible for the East Lancashire LIFT framework for health centres in and around the east and central Lancashire area and a number of high profile residential developments such as the Miners Home Blackpool, Albert mill Manchester and Bank Hall Bretherton.
Mark Pollard BEng (Hons) CEng MIStructE
Mark Pollard joined Booth King Partnership from school in 1986 and progressed to Partner in 2004 and went on to become a director of Booth King Partnership Limited 2008.
In this time Mark has gained invaluable experience at all levels of the practice and on a wide range of commercial and industrial projects procured via design and build work with contractors and steelwork fabricators
Mark has been currently Director responsible for civil and structural design on the NHS LIFT frameworks delivering health centres in East Lancashire, Wigan and BRAHMS.
Mark has previously lectured Structural Engineering at Bolton University.
Mark is currently on secondment in New Zealand assisting with the rebuilding efforts after the Christchurch earthquake.
Alan Isherwood BSc (Hons) PgDip CEng MIStructE
Alan joined Booth King as a student engineer in 2003, progressing to graduate engineer in 2004. He became chartered in 2012 and was made an associate in 2013. Alan has combined his professional development within Booth King with part time studies winning the IStructE prize in his undergraduate class.
Alan has particular experience in health care facilities both private and for NHS clients, along with educational projects art work projects and private housing, with a strong emphasis on architectural detailing.
Alan has a pragmatic approach and works closely with the whole design team, and prides himself on following Booth King’s Philosophy for developing strong ties with the construction team and providing vital support throughout the construction period.
