Stubbs Mill is located in the New Islington development in Ancoats, Manchester.

Booth King provided structural engineering design and advice for the repair and conversion of this late 19th/early 20th century mill into retail and commercial space for developer Urban Splash which was completed in 2016.

The building is a brick-clad steel frame with timber floors, and had lain empty for several years and had suffered from vandalism and theft.

The Architect’s design skilfully and simultaneously retains but rejuvenates the original building with some sensitive but striking interventions.
